Roboquest

Throughout the 3rd Nine Weeks, the student learning teams worked on Roboquest, a webquest designed to guide students through discovery, problem solving, hands-on learning, divergent thinking, and cooperative learning.  Teams worked together to learn the reality of space travel opposed to the space travel seen in our book, A Wrinkle in Time. They quickly discovered that many of them had unrealistic views of space exploration and that humans are very limited in the extent of deep space exploration.  Through guided questioning and a series of website experiments and research, students learned that technology is the key to answer those human limitations.  Then each team found a human need and designed a model of a robot to answer to that need.  All of the specifics of this project can be found here.  This is a project where students truly learned how to think and solve problems for themselves, with my guidance, in our small group sessions.
